KICKING ON WITH SERGIO GRASSO

Italian Leather Boot manufacturer Sergio Grasso has teamed up with Charles Owen to design and manufacture a range of Racing Boots. Sergio Grasso had started to develop the racing boots with the help of Italian flat jockey Mirko Demuro. The Jump Racing boots have been adapted with the input of Robert ‘Choc’ Thornton National Hunt Jockey, who has ridden in, and tested the boots as they have evolved.

Choc has enjoyed the very exacting development demands of Sergio Grasso which have resulted in a boot with a far superior fit. The ankle has always been a problem area due to leather bagging here as the basic stitching patterns did not allow for adequate adjustment. With the amended Sergio design it is now possible to tailor the boots to the last millimetre for the tightest and most streamlined of fits.

The different weights and leathers allows a greater range of choice and as Choc said “Even the ‘Heavyweight/heavy duty’ boots are really light as well as comfortable, and the lightweight boots give a sturdier feel than other lightweight types on the market. These are my choice of boot and I choose them over any other brand. After three winners at Cheltenham I’m not taking them off now. The boots are pure class!”

The Light Racing boots are made from young calf leather, soft tanning. The heavier boots are made from very soft Nappa Calf Leather, and the Clarino boots are made from a very lightweight patent synthetic material. The quality of all three materials enables Sergio to work with the leather and manipulate the stitching for the very customised fit.

The launch of the Sergio Grasso brand in the Racing market is being supported by a Free Made To Measure service for which there is normally a nominal charge. This charge is being absorbed by Sergio Grasso and is available for the first six months.
